Quain Weber
If you ever met Quain, you never forgot Quain. The first child of six, she previously lost her parents Joseph C. Weber and Kathryn Quain Weber, siblings Patricia Harlen, Joseph Weber III and Robert Weber, and her longtime partner, Harry Greenwald. She will be forever loved by her four children, Stacie (Stephen) Dziwulski, Stephanie (Anthony) Cattarin, Shawn (Bernadette) Weber, Glynis (Mark) Mieth, 11 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren, her sister Marlane McGary, brother John (Janice) Quain, sistersin- law Maureen Weber and Carrie Weber, several nieces and nephews and longtime family friends, the Mieth and Flaherty Families.
Quain graduated from LaSalle High School, where she met lifelong friends that called themselves 'The Shipwrecks.' She received her bachelor’s degree in business from Syracuse University and a Master of Social Work from Niagara University. Quain’s passion for helping youth was evident by her 20-plus year career at the Niagara County Youth Bureau. She pioneered the first offender program, Onesimus house for unhoused youth, and was even seen riding minibikes with the kids in the program. During this time Quain met James Becton who quickly became a member of the family. Upon her retirement, she moved to Youngtown, NY and was the owner of the popular Fyfe and Drum Restaurant and Fyfe and Drum Inn, and was a tenured board member of the Youngstown Business and Professional Association.
A well-known supporter of the City of Niagara Falls, she was an owner of the Cayuga Village Mobile Home Park as well as the Jefferson Apartment Building. Quain was a longtime board member and a passionate supporter of Community Missions of the Niagara Frontier. Quain and her dear friend Hilda Mieth loved volunteering in the kitchen, where Hilda did all the cooking and Quain sat serving the desserts!
Quain had the unique ability to see the potential in every person that she met, and her memory lives on in the countless lives that she touched across her lifetime.
Quain and her family are very grateful for her loving care giver and friend Mary McKee.
As many of you will remember, Quain loved to throw a party so, of course, she planned her final party as well. Please join her family on Saturday, November 16th from 12pm -4pm at Wine on Third, 501 3rd Street, Niagara Falls, NY to share a memory, laugh and love for this brilliant woman.
