R. Eleanor Uli

NIAGARA FALLS —
R. Eleanor Uli, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Marchitelli) Uli.
Eleanor attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1939 and went on to receive a Secretarial Degree from Kelly Business Institute. Upon graduation she worked for local businesses, Sears & Roebuck Co. and Stauffer Chemical Co. before accepting a position at St. Joseph R.C. Church Rectory as secretary, a position she held for 48 years, after which she retired due to health problems. Eleanor was an active member of the Children of Mary Sodality and the Ladies of Charity at St. Joseph Church until the organizations dissolved. She was a strong advocate of the Catholic Church and practiced it daily with everyone she met.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Pauline A. Uli; her nephews, Gerald Burt and wife, Rita, Russell George and wife, Carol Ann, and Paul Burt; as well as niece, Evelyn (Burt) Satriano; grandnieces, Beverly and husband, Steven Oswald, Audrey DeLong, Elisa George and fiance', Justin; and grandnephew, Alex George; first cousins, Shirley Darin, Leon Grubka, George Lamonte, Quain Lamonte, Carol Malvestuto, Gennaro Mancuso and Jerome March. She is also survived by many Godchildren, especially Nanette (Baran) Roffle, Norma Sardino and Barbara (Baran) Centeno plus many, many, many dear friends.
At her request there will be no visitation, but her family asks that you remember her in your prayers. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date in January 2014 at Holy Family of Jesus Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls. Family and friends invited.
