Vander G. Ray, 80, of 3020
Lockport Road, died today
(Oct. 27, 1969) in Memorial
Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Coverton, Va.,
he setted in Niagara Falls in
1917.
He was employed by the
Lehigh Valley Railroad as an
engineer from 1917 until 1959
when he retired after 42 years.
He is a member of the
Brotherhood of L o c o m o tive
F i r e m e n and Einginemen,
Lodge No. 472.
He is survived by his wife,
Sylda W h i t m i r e Ray; two
daughters, Mrs. Ella Bierley,
of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Don
(Ethel) Orr, of Fort Lauderdale,
Fla.; four brothers, Ernest
Ray, of Akron, Ohio; Dennis
Ray, Erie, Pa.; Charles
Ray, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and
Warren Ray, of Miami, Fla.;
four sisters, Mrs. Mary Quatc,
of Naples, Fla.; Mrs^Ella
Lowe, Mrs. Daisy Dressier,
and Mrs. Nelie Rice, all of Coverton,
Va.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at
the Rhoney Funeral Home Wednesday
at 2 pjm. with the Rev.
Wiliam J. Devine of the Niagara
United P r e s b y t e r i an
Church officiating. Burial will
be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home from 7 to 9 p.m.
today and from 2 to 5 and from
7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday
