- April 26, 2014 Olga Bopp Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Sat Apr 26, 2014, 02:53 PM EDT CANANDAIGUA - Olga (Lassik) Bopp, age 94, formerly of North Tonawanda, passed from this life into eternity on April 22, 2014, at her home. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Laura) Bopp, Jr. of Colorado and Douglas (Donna) Bopp of Florida; daughter, Katherine Barnum of Canandaigua; four grandchildren, Corinne (Mike) Wells, Caitlin, Nicholas and Kara Bopp; great-grandson, Matthew Wells. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Richard Bopp, Sr., in 2003; and three sisters and two brothers. Born to immigrant parents in Chicago, Olga was a World War II veteran serving in Europe, as an Army nurse. She retired as a nursing professor from Niagara County Community College. Olga was a founding member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. She enjoyed reading and spirited debates with friends and family. Her memorial service will be held at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, at a later date and time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight Rochester, Inc., P.O.
